XAVIER

I don’t know what I fucking did to deserve this level of batshit crazy from the woman who suddenly holds all of my attention, but fuck me, she is next level.

I just spent the better part of nearly thirty minutes watching them fuck in the back seat—on my freshly detailed cream leather, I might add—and I said nothing. Nothing. Well, nothing asshole-ish. I might have ground my molars into dust, but I managed to hold my tongue. My dick was screaming for any scrap of her attention, but the moment she retook her seat, legs spread, I couldn’t help but get a taste of her myself.

Then, in the blink of an eye, her eyes glazed over, and I realized all too late where we were and there was nowhere for me to turn around. As soon as she spotted the red bridge, demanding for us to pull over, I knew I had to, even if I didn’t want to. I knew her emotions were still raw, the crash still fresh in all our minds.

Eden stood and stared down at the ravine for what felt like an eternity, the three of us trying to give her the space she needed, but enough was enough. If I wanted to man the fuck up and be a part of whatever was developing between her, Tobias, and Hunter, this was my chance.

Because I lied when I said I hated you too.

That was the understatement of the century, and as I look down at her, where she sits by my side in the back of the SUV, I wish I’d been able to explain better. But that’s always difficult when you’re the kind of person who only ever expresses anger and acts indifferent.

“I can feel you staring at me,” Eden mumbles, glancing up at me with her blonde hair wet and plastered to her head, and I shrug in response as a shiver runs through my body.

“Can you also feel me shivering from the fact I jumped into the ravine after you?” I retort, and she gives me the most innocent look she can muster, but we both know it’s bullshit.

My words were overwhelming her, I know that now, but it’s not like I had any control over them. They just tumbled from my lips. now I can think back and see the distress in her eyes and the blush that crept up her neck after my confession, however, so when she said choose her or lose her, I jumped straight in after her, leading with actions instead of words for once, and so far, it was working in my favor.

I can’t pinpoint what it is about her that holds me captivated Maybe it’s the sway of her hips or the constant sass that spills from her lips. But deep down, I know her soul touches mine in a way I can’t explain, just like it did the first moment I saw her when she took my breath away.

After watching her fall naturally in sync with Tobias and Hunter, I can almost admit she completes us.
